Business activity will rise to a seven-month high in February
Mumbai: From the figures received so far, there are indications that the business activity in the country will increase in February of the current year to a seven-month high. The composite Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) of the manufacturing and services sectors rose to a seven-month high in February, according to the HSBC Flash India PMI report prepared by S&P Global.
This report has been prepared after surveying 400 manufacturing sector companies and the same number of service sector companies. India is currently performing best in the world in terms of trade. In the preliminary estimate, the PMI of the manufacturing sector for February is 56.70, the service sector is 62, while the combined PMI of the manufacturing and service sector is 61.50, according to the report.
Compared to January, there is an increase in the activity of manufacturing and service sector in February. The survey participants were of the view that business activity is increasing due to strong demand situation, investment in technology, increase in efficiency, growth in customer base and favorable sales environment.
Overall orders are witnessing strong growth with support from export orders. The volume of new orders was the highest in September last year.
Australia, Europe, Africa, Middle East and America are witnessing a strong increase in new orders. The Reserve Bank recently said that the demand from abroad is increasing. Inflation is also seen to be coming down which will support growth in demand.
