Property tax spree in newly purchased house-office

- Amuco's property tax department does not hesitate to seal old property disputes even if they are still pending.

Amuco's property tax department officials do not show agility that property tax should be collected from builders after granting permission for building use. As a result, within one and a half years of buying the property from the builders, he becomes liable to pay three to four years of property tax. Builders have good connections in Amuco's property tax department. Therefore, their scheme does not collect property tax due on unsold flats or offices in commercial complexes after granting permission for building use. But after one to two years after the office is purchased, five years of property tax arrears remain. As a result, the builder puts the remaining property tax money of the period before the purchase document of the house or office on the property buyer instead of the builder. This is just a scam. They should also be given timely notice and recovered from them. But the property tax department of Amuco is showing laziness in doing so.

Against this, the officials of Health, Estate and Engineering Department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation are forcing the traders and commercial unit holders to deposit the property tax by bullying them in order to collect the old arrears of property tax. For this they are going to the commercial complex in person and telling the property owners that you pay the outstanding property tax now or not, else get out of the shop-office, we have to seal it. As a result, the merchant Alam is getting worse. Fifteen days ago, he went to residential complexes and threatened to deposit the property tax of four years in three days to those who bought new flats two years ago. Otherwise their light water sewer connections were also threatened.

Many of the offices sealed by AMUCO have been sealed even though they are not operational yet. If the property owners of Relief Road, Gandhi Road have complained for any reason, the officials of AMUCO are not ready to wait until their complaints are disposed of. Let them come when the decision of the appeal or complaint comes, but now they are forcing to pay the tax by telling them to deposit the property tax. A complaint has been made of otherwise sealing shops or offices. A written complaint has also been made to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, AMUCO Commissioner and Mayor on the issue. Even in the new housing schemes, they go door to door and give written details of the outstanding tax amount and give verbal instructions to them to deposit the money within three days. The shopkeepers are being forced out of the shop without giving prior notice and the shop is being sealed. Officials are behaving very rudely with traders. As shops are sealed, GST payments, advance tax payments and TDS payments are getting stuck. So traders are also having to bear the burden of interest and penalty. Some of the traders who have sealed their shops saying they owe property tax have now owned their shops, which were on rent. In this regard, since the applications made by him have not been disposed of for months, he is saying that he is owed tax money. Amuco has been slow to dispose of this application. However, traders' shops are being sealed.
