Stock markets close at record levels in today's special session, Sensex at all-time high, Nifty above 22,350
Indian Stock Market : The stock market opened today on Saturday as well. The National Stock Exchange announced on February 14 that the market will remain open even on the March 2 holiday. During this two special live trading sessions were held. This is being done to test the disaster recovery site. A disaster recovery site is used to recover data from the most recent backup. If the primary location and its systems fail due to an unforeseen event, it can be switched to a disaster recovery site. Meanwhile, the stock market has hit a new all-time high today. The Sensex touched an all-time high of 73,994 and the Nifty touched an all-time high of 22,419.
The stock market hit its all-time high
Major Indian indices rose for the third consecutive trading session today, led by gains in metal, auto and FMCG stocks. The S&P BSE Sensex closed at 73,806.15 during the special session after hitting a new all-time high of 73,994.7. While the NSE Nifty closed at 22,378.40 with an increase of 60.80 points or 0.08%. The 50-share index Nifty touched a fresh high of 22,419.55 points during the trading session. 35 Nifty stocks closed in the green while 14 closed in the red. A single share of Nifty remained unchanged.
Top gainer and top loser
Tata Steel was the biggest contributor to the market growth during today's trading session. After which the share of ITC and Tata Motors saw a surge. Shares of Tata Steel, Hero Moto Corp, Tata Motors, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone and JSW Steel were the top gainers during today's trading. On the other hand, shares of Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, NTPC, Sun Pharmaceuticals and Nestle India were seen trading as top losers. Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 gained 0.74% and 0.69% respectively.
