Sensex 73995, Nifty spot 22419 new history in special trading session
Mumbai: National Stock Exchange-NSE and Bombay Stock Exchange-BSE today held a two-hour special trading session in the equity and equity futures and options (F&O) segments. This special trading session was held for two hours from 9:30 am to 10:30 am and again from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. In which Sensex 73995 and Nifty created a new record high of 22419. Finally, Sensex increased by 60.80 points to 73806.15 and Nifty 50 spot index increased by 39.65 points to close at 22378.40. The special trading session was held by the exchange to switch to its Disaster Recovery (DR) site intra-day. This Special Trading Session was held to strengthen the Exchanges to enable the Exchanges to continue functioning in case of any untoward incident affecting the trading operations of the Exchanges.

In the special trading session today, the focus of the fund was stocks of Tata group companies. Tata Group shares were buoyed today by the news that Tata Group's parent Tata Sons Company is preparing to launch the largest IPO of Rs.55,000 crore in the history of India's capital market. Tata Steel increased by Rs.5.15 to Rs.155.15, Tata Motors increased by Rs.11.20 to Rs.988.40, Tata Alexey increased by Rs.51.65 to Rs.7790.30, Tata Power increased by Rs.1.65 Rs.379.05, Tata Communications rose by Rs.6.90 to Rs.1913.85, Tata Chemicals rose by Rs.4.80 to Rs.972.55, TCS rose by Rs.10.60 to Rs.4106.90, Tata Investment Corporation Rs.381.75 increased to Rs.8016.85, Tata Consumer Products increased by Rs.6.80 to Rs.1206.85, TRF increased by Rs.23 to Rs.483.10, Tata Technologies increased by Rs.7.10 to Rs.1095. Metal index rises 402 points: SAIL, Jindal Stainless, Jindal Steel, NMDC gain
Metal-mining stocks saw heavy buying by funds today, led by Tata Steel. SAIL increased by Rs.4.40 to Rs.137.55, Jindal Stainless increased by Rs.12.25 to Rs.663.30, Jindal Steel increased by Rs.15.25 to Rs.837.90, NMDC increased by Rs.3.50 to Rs. 234.65. JSW Steel rose by Rs 8.65 to Rs 844.50, Hindalco rose by Rs 4.80 to Rs 523.90. The BSE Metal Index rose 402.27 points to close at 28,229.21.
Gains in healthcare stocks: Suven Life, Aurobindo Pharma, Suven Pharma, Max Healthcare, Dishman rose
Funds in healthcare-pharmaceuticals companies were buying options today. Suven Life increased by Rs.5.30 to Rs.112.20, Aurobindo Pharma increased by Rs.49.60 to Rs.1076.10, Suven Pharma increased by Rs.32.90 to Rs.722.95, Max Healthcare increased by Rs.31.60 768, Dishman Carbogen rose by Rs 8.90 to Rs 265.95. The BSE Healthcare Index rose 259.91 points to close at 34960.51.
Attractiveness in small, mid-cap stocks: Small-cap index rises by 320 points: 2375 stocks close positive
The market breadth became very positive today due to extensive buying by funds, high net worth investors, retail investors in small, mid cap, cash stocks. Out of the total 3557 scrips traded in BSE, the number of gainers was 2375 and the number of decliners was 1064. The BSE Small Cap Index rose 320.02 points to close at 45852.48 and the BSE Mid Cap Index rose 266.10 points to close at 39962.59.
FPI/FII's net sale of Rs.82 crore shares in cash : DII's net sale of Rs.45 crore
Foreign Portfolio Investors-FPIs, FIIs had a net sale of Rs.81.87 crore in cash on Saturday in the special trading session today. A total of Rs.131.39 crore was sold against a total purchase of Rs.49.52 crore. While DII-domestic institutional investors saw net selling of shares worth Rs.44.71 crore today. A total of Rs.234.07 crore was sold against a total purchase of Rs.189.36 crore.
