In this matter, the license holder filed a complaint in the district court. In which the court termed the amount charged by the railway as unfair and illegal.

Based on this decision of the court, the license holder again demanded to return this amount, the court also ordered in his favor. When the petitioner demanded to seize the engine of Karnataka Express to recover the amount, the railway officers panicked and immediately the demand for this amount was given to the catering contractor Rajeev Sethi before the draft court.

A warrant was also issued in case of non-deposit of amount

Khandwa Chief District Court Judge Mamata Jain recently ordered the General Manager of Central Railway to return Rs 36 lakh 64 thousand 128 wrongly taken from the catering contractor in this case. An attachment warrant was also issued in case of non-deposit of amount.

When the senior railway officials got the information about the seizure warrant in this way, panic spread among them. So the railway administration immediately handed over the draft of this amount to the petitioner before the court and settled the matter.

What was the whole matter?

In fact, the whole matter is that, in the year 2017, railways suddenly demanded 36 lakh 64 thousand 128 rupees apart from license fee from Khandwa railway station catering contractor members 'Kapoor & PR Mahant' and instructed to close its business if not deposited. was In fact, all this was happening illegally. So the applicant took the help of the District Court in this matter and got the amount back.

Rajeev Sethi was paying regular rent...

So the catering contractor Rajeev Sethi deposited the amount in the railway under protest but at the same time filed a complaint in the district court saying that the amount was collected illegally, in which the then District and Sessions Judge Sanjeev Kalgaonkar gave the final decision on March 25, 2022. Held that the rent demanded in addition to the license fee is unreasonable, arbitrary and illegal. Rajeev Sethi was paying the rent regularly, but despite his protest, the money was collected in this illegal way. Later this amount was returned by the railways by the decision of the court.
