Government fails to capitalize on IPO boom: only two issues
MUMBAI: Private companies are reaping the most benefits of the initial public offerings (IPOs) boom of 2021 and the government has either been reluctant or lagging behind. Along with the boom in the country's secondary market, the primary market is also booming in the current year and in 2021, companies have raised Rs 1,15,6 crore through six public payments. Of the 52 IPOs received till November this year, only two were public IPOs. Out of the total amount of Rs 1.10 trillion raised through public payments, Rs 5 crore has been raised by two public sector companies, which is less than five per cent of the total amount, according to a research report.
