Investment in PE and venture capital fell more than 50 per cent in September
MUMBAI: Investments by private equity and venture capital funds in September fell more than half to ૮ 2.7 billion from ૧૦ 10.8 billion in August, but more than ૪ 4.5 billion in the same period last year, according to a report. According to a report, on a quarterly basis, PE investment grew 4.5 times to ૩ 2.7 billion during the July-September period, with sharp growth in buyout investment and start-up investment, which accounted for 4% of the investment. In 2021, PE and venture capital investments and exits could be as high as 50 billion and 50 billion, respectively. According to Grant Thornton, there were six transactions worth ૩ 20 billion in the September quarter, including an IPO worth 3 billion. Excluding real estate and infrastructure investments, PE and Venture Capital invested a record 3 billion in the September quarter, up 2.3 times from ૭ 2.8 billion in the same quarter a year earlier and ૧ 19.1 billion in the July quarter.
