The repatriation of Indians stranded in countries around the world due to Korana's spread has resulted in a 60 to 70 per cent cut in the salaries of Air India pilots working continuously under the Vande Bharat program.

Thus, the central government has been trying to sell Air India for some time now. Air India started losing billions of rupees due to the royalties of the staff. The airline, once considered a lucrative son, turned out to be a white elephant, prompting the central government to sell it and solicit offers from corporate entrepreneurs around the world.

The Tata Group also expressed interest in buying the airline, once known as Tata Airlines. Two days ago, BJP MP Subramanian Swamy openly threatened to go to court if the Tata group was allowed to bid for the airline.

During the implementation of the Vande Bharat program, 60 pilots contracted corona. So far, Air India has helped more than four lakh Indians return home through 3020 flights. Aside from applauding him, an official announcement was made to cut his salary by 60 to 70 per cent from April this year. On the other hand, a modest pay cut of only seven per cent was announced in the salaries of senior Air India executives.

In addition to the pilots, there was a big cut in the salaries of the flight crew. There was only a seven per cent cut in the salaries of officers sitting at tables in air-conditioned cabins. Therefore, the enthusiasm of the pilots and crew is not ruled out. True when the company is sold. Now the pilots' salaries have been slashed.
