Corona effect: Death blow to Air Cargo Ind

Kolkata, Ta. 14 August 2020, Friday

The whole math of a cargo industry has been disrupted by the Corona epidemic. The entire industry is concerned about the sharp decline in freight during the June quarter, both locally and internationally.

According to company sources working in the field of air cargo logistics, domestic air freight declined sharply by 3% during the April-June quarter. On the other hand, international air freight has declined by 3%.

Prior to the epidemic, air cargo transported all other items, including flowers and vegetables. The important thing is that in the past, various goods were transported by cargo planes as well as passenger flights.

When the lockdown was announced in the last phase of March, there was no work for two months when the air service was also shut down. However, some cargo planes were allowed. But it mostly carried medical / life necessities. A few more cargoes have been transported since the air service resumed at the end of May. International flights have also been disrupted due to the closure of flights to foreign countries.
