About 43% of smartphone sales online

Mumbai, Ta. 14 August 2020, Friday

Of the total sales of smartphones in the country in the June quarter, 9 per cent were sold through online channels. Sales through online channels are on the rise as consumers are turning to contact-less purchases due to the coronavirus.

Consumers are taking the burden of social distance due to Corona seriously and prefer to shop at home instead of going out, a research firm said in a report.

Online sales of smartphones range from Rs 10,000 to Rs 30,000. The report estimates that online sales will account for 4% of total smartphone sales this year.

Covid-12 has had a huge impact on the market and new methods of trading are being developed. The smartphone trade was almost washed out in April due to the lockdown.
