Beware, don't let Tata buy Air India

-Subrahmanyam Swami warned
-If you let them take me, I will go to court

BJP MP Subramanian Swamy had vehemently opposed the Tata Group's desire to buy Air India and its readiness to bid by the end of this month and threatened to go to court over the matter. It may be recalled that Air India was founded by JRD Tata. Swamy had alleged that a money laundering case was filed by the Enforcement Directorate against Airlines Air Asia, a joint venture between the Tata Group and the Malaysian company. Also in Dubai, the company financed a terrorist. Swami also spoke about Nira Radia tape. Swamy had earlier filed a case against Air Asia in the matter and also demanded revocation of its flying license. Swamy also alleged that if the Tata company itself is mired in debt, then on what basis is it talking about buying Air India?
A spokesman for the Tata Group chose to speak on the issue for the first time and said it was true. We are considering bidding to buy Air India. However, we want to make this bid alone. We do not want to buy Air India in anyone's partnership. The Tata Group has a 51 per cent stake in Air Asia.
Air India was started by JRD Tata in 1932 and was then known as Tata Airlines. It was nationalized after World War II in 1946 and renamed Air India in 1962.
In the last few years, the financial transactions of these airlines have deteriorated due to skyrocketing and exorbitant expenses like Aasmaan Sultani and the airlines are running at a huge loss. The Modi government decided to sell it and suggested bidding to companies around the world.
The Tata group also thought in this direction and considered bidding. After receiving this information, Subramanian Swamy was outraged and threatened to go to court if the Tata group was allowed to bid.
