Among the emerging markets, the Japanese invest the most in Indian equities


Mumbai: Looking at the booming environment in the equities market along with India's economic development, Japanese retail investors in developing countries are showing the greatest attraction towards Indian equities. 14 Among the emerging markets, the highest investment of the Japanese is seen in Indian equities.

Assets under management of India-focused investment trusts active in Japan rose by 11 percent to reach $1.60 billion in January, according to data obtained. Net inflows into Japanese equity focused funds have been zero.

Compared to other developing countries, India's stock holdings have increased the most in 2023, according to a research firm's report. Aggregate Japanese holdings in Indian stocks rose to ¥2868.50 billion in 2023. Which was 2053.30 billion yen in 2022.

Japanese investors' holdings in Chinese equities fell last year in 14 emerging markets, the data showed. Japanese holdings in Chinese equities fell by 427.50 billion yen last year to 805.80 billion yen.

Due to the strong economic growth rate of India compared to China, the eyes of investors are on the Indian market.
