Changes in the type of gifts given on Diwali due to corona
Mumbai, Ta. 11 November 2020, Wednesday
Corona has seen a dramatic change in the type of gifts that companies give to their employees during the Diwali festival. Due to Kovid-12, there has been a huge change in the working system of the working class. Instead of going to work in the office, work from home method has been adopted. In such a situation, companies are found to be gifting their employees work-from-home tools instead of the traditional sweets or dried fruits.
Products that come in handy for personal use are currently being given as gifts in Diwali. Gifts include web cameras, healthcare products, headphones, steam steamers and more.
Some companies are even offering gifts that make their children or spouse feel better than their employees. The type of gifts depends on the performance of the employee during the year, said the CEO of one company.
Companies are also reluctant to allocate huge budgets behind gifts as the Corona has also had a serious impact on our business operations. It is estimated that the budget behind Diwali gifts has been slashed by fifty per cent.
Companies are also avoiding providing sweets due to health concerns due to corona. Some companies are even offering yoga mats used in yoga to encourage their employees to practice yoga.
It is learned that some companies have decided to conduct a virtual puja program as they cannot call every one of their employees to the office for Diwali puja.
