The central government has provided Rs. 6,195 crore

The central government has given 14 states a monthly installment of revenue deficit grant of Rs. 6,195 crore. The grant is based on the interim recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission to reduce the revenue loss to the states after payment of the state's share in the central tax.
"Grants of Rs 6,195.08 crore have been given to 14 states on the basis of interim recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission," Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's office said on Tuesday. The amount was released by the Revenue Deficit Grants Department in equal monthly installments after paying the states' share in the central tax. "
The beneficiary states are Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
The same amount of grant was given during April-October of the current financial year. After the participation of the states in the central tax, the Finance Commission has created this system of grants by the Center to cover the revenue deficit of the states.
