Gold-silver futures maintained bullish momentum on weekly basis


A total turnover of Rs 4,89,034.47 crore was recorded in 56,70,479 trades during the week of July 14 to 20 in various commodity futures, options and index futures on the country's leading commodity derivatives exchange, with commodity futures accounting for Rs 91,118.4 crore and options accounting for Rs 39,7713.8 crore. In precious metals futures, 7,68,883 deals worth Rs.55,224.76 crore were transacted in gold and silver. Among the gold futures, gold August futures opened at Rs.59,264 per 10 grams at the beginning of the week, touched a high of Rs.59,984 and a low of Rs.58,939 during the week, increased by Rs.313 to reach Rs.59,552 at the end of the week. Among the silver futures, silver September futures opened at Rs.75,480 per kg at the beginning of the week, touched an intra-day high of Rs.76,674 and a low of Rs.75,017 during the week, closed by Rs.123 at the end of the week at Rs.75,449. The Chandi-Mini August contract increased by Rs.202 to Rs.75,298 and the Chandi-Micro August contract increased by Rs.215 to close at Rs.75,284.

In non-ferrous metal futures, 96,016 deals worth Rs 11,134.52 crore were traded at MCX. Copper July futures opened at Rs.739.55, falling by Rs.9.85 to Rs.729.95, while aluminum July contract fell by Rs.5.80 to Rs.196.10 and lead July contract fell by Rs.0.50 to Rs.182. Zinc July contract fell by Rs.6.60 to Rs.213. Among the mini futures, aluminum-mini July contract fell by Rs.5.55 per kg to Rs.196.30, Sisu-mini July contract fell by Rs.0.70 to Rs.182.00, zinc-mini July contract fell by Rs.6.20 to close at Rs.213.30. In energy segment futures, 6,36,322 trades worth Rs.24,673.43 crore were traded on MCX.
