Small, mid-cap stocks storm: Sensex recovers 292 points to 66988


- Market cap 335.60 new high: Small cap, mid cap index at new high

- Nifty up 37 points: Consumer, Capital Goods, Auto, Healthcare, Oil stocks up: FPIs/FIIs net buying Rs.8148 crores, DIIs net selling Rs.780 crores

(Gujarat News Correspondent) Mumbai: On the mega listing day in the Indian stock markets today, Tata Technologies was listed at a super duper 140 percent premium, Gandhar Oil Refineries was also listed at a premium of more than 80 percent, funds, retail investors benefited from the huge listing in the stocks, the market sentiment was finally bullish. After seeing investment demand of Rs.2.59 lakh crore in five IPOs in the primary market recently, the listing of these stocks also became mega-attractive as investors' appetite increased. In the secondary market today, funds finally closed the bullish market after an initial index-based shock. Funds continued the bullish cycle with short buying in consumer durables, capital goods, healthcare, automobile stocks and selected frontline stocks in IT-software services stocks. Along with this, the bullishness continued in the special small and mid cap stocks today, the BSE Small Cap Index and the BSE Mid Cap Index made new record highs due to the attractiveness in many stocks.

Nifty maintained the level of 20000

India's overall economic growth remained strong with core sector growth at 12.1 per cent in October and GDP growth estimates for the second quarter at 6.8 per cent, better than the Reserve Bank of India's estimate, kept funds attractive. Profit booking including Reliance Industries, Tata Motors, State Bank of India, TCS Sensex recovers after falling 291.56 points to 66610.35 in initial shock Ultratech Cement, Sun Pharma, Wipro, Bharti Airtel, Titan, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv , NTPC, Hindustan Unilever, Nestlé India, Maruti Suzuki, Larsen, NTPC, among others, digested the decline and rose to 67069.89 and finally rose 86.53 points to close at 66988.44. While the Nifty 50 spot index initially came up to 20015.85 in a shock and came back up to 20158.70 and finally increased by 36.55 points to close at 20133.15.

Consumer durables index rose 749 points

The BSE Consumer Durables index rose 748.63 points to close at 47120.25 as funds bought heavily in the stocks of consumer durables companies today. Rajesh Exports rose by Rs.10.05 to Rs.353.15, Whirlpool of India rose by Rs.34.45 to Rs.1582.50, Dixon Technology rose by Rs.115.95 to Rs.5517, Aditya Birla Fashion rose by Rs.4.50 230.70, Blue Star increased by Rs.16.25 to Rs.1002.75, Titan Company increased by Rs.54.75 to Rs.3482, Havells India increased by Rs.18.65 to Rs.1306.40.

Funds are consistent buyers of capital goods stocks

The BSE Capital Goods Index rose 686.93 points to close at 49989.66 today as funds continued to buy in capital goods stocks. ABB India rose by Rs.176.25 to Rs.4420.70, Carborundum Universal rose by Rs.40.40 to Rs.1193.35, Bharat Electronics rose by Rs.4.85 to Rs.145.85, BHEL rose by Rs.5.30 to Rs. .170.45, CG Power by Rs.10.95 to Rs.450.10, LG Equipment by Rs.11.65 to Rs.530, Hindustan Aeronautics by Rs.38.65 to Rs.2382.30, Polycab by Rs.77. 60 increased to Rs.5240, Praj Industries increased by Rs.9.20 to Rs.643.30, Larsen & Toubro increased by Rs.31.60 to Rs.3111.65.

Healthcare index jumped 496 points

There was a broad rally in the stocks of Healthcare-Pharmaceuticals companies again today. Newland Lab rose by Rs 340.25 to Rs 5503.90, Wockhardt rose by Rs 19.50 to Rs 345, JB Chemicals rose by Rs 84.05 to Rs 1494, Jagsonpal Pharma rose by Rs 22.85 to Rs 417.10. , Max Healthcare increased by Rs.32.10 to Rs.644.60, Global Health increased by Rs.39.70 to Rs.959.80, Alembic Pharma increased by Rs.26.50 to Rs.745.90, Aurobindo Pharma increased by Rs.25.80 increased to Rs.1046.85, Novartis India increased by Rs.20.05 to Rs.714.45. The BSE Healthcare Index jumped 494.42 points to close at 30374.52.

Crude firmer ahead of OPEC meeting: attraction in oil stocks

Brent crude rose 65 cents to $83.75 this evening and New York crude rose 54 cents to close to $78.40 as international crude oil prices continued to rise ahead of the OPEC meeting. Of course, funds were buying selectively in oil-gas stocks. GAIL India increased by Rs.5.70 to Rs.131.65, Indian Oil Corp increased by Rs.3.03 to Rs.111.57, Petronet LNG increased by Rs.3.65 to Rs.202.85, BPCL increased by Rs.7 to Rs. 435.85, ONGC increased by Rs.2.75 to Rs.194.80, HPCL increased by Rs.4.65 to Rs.347.35.

Selective bullishness in FMCG stocks

Funds were also making selective purchases of FMCG stocks. Varun Beverages rose by Rs 48.95 to Rs 1105.35, Tilaknagar Industries rose by Rs 8.90 to Rs 264.95, Parag Milk rose by Rs 5.40 to Rs 223.95, Hindustan Unilever rose by Rs 17.60. Rs.2541.65, Nestle India increased by Rs.132.40 to Rs.24,197.85.

Prestige Estate increased by Rs.51 to Rs.1004

In the realty sector, funds were being taken in stocks due to the increasing demand for properties across the country. Prestige Estate rose by Rs.51.50 to Rs.1003.60, Brigade Enterprises rose by Rs.37.35 to Rs.816.20, Macrotech Developers rose by Rs.28.65 to Rs.878.15, Shobha Developers rose by Rs.26 to Rs. 910.95, Godrej Properties increased by Rs.41.65 to Rs.1881, Phoenix Mills increased by Rs.49.45 to Rs.2368.95.

New record in small, mid cap indices

Today, BSE Small Cap Index made a new record high of 40407.85 and finally increased by 382.04 points to 40371.61 and BSE Mid Cap Index made a new record of 34293.56 and finally 280, due to extensive buying by funds, players, high net worth investors in small and mid cap stocks. It closed 86 points higher at 34256.42. Of course, the market breadth remained moderately negative due to profit booking in many cash stocks in the market today. Out of the total 3857 scrips traded in BSE, the number of gainers was 1823 and the number of decliners was 1881.

DII's net sales of Rs.780 crore

Foreign portfolio investors – FPIs and FIIs – saw massive net buying of stocks worth Rs 8147.85 crore in cash today-Thursday.

A total of Rs.58,682.68 crore was sold against a total purchase of Rs.66,830.53 crore. While DII-domestic institutional investors had a net sale of shares worth Rs.780.32 crore in cash today. A total of Rs.14,725.28 crore was sold against a total purchase of Rs.13,944.96 crore.

Asset-market capitalization of investors in stocks

With mega listings including Tata Technology, Gandhar Oil, many stocks rose today, the wealth of investors i.e. the aggregate market capitalization of companies listed in BSE increased by Rs.2.31 lakh crore in a single day to reach a new record high of Rs.335.60 lakh crore.
