40 percent increase in online searches for precious metals ahead of festivals


Mumbai: Along with online shopping in the country, there has also been an increase in online searches in various fields. According to data from a recent consumer report released by Just Dial, there has been a 40 percent increase in online searches for precious metals before Dhanteras this year.

According to the data released in this report, there was a 44 percent increase in demand for the precious metal in tier two cities. This was higher than the increase of 34 per cent in tier-one cities. Gold was the most sought after precious metal due to falling prices. In which there was an increase of 34 percent. Demand for silver increased by 140 percent, demand for platinum increased by 82 percent, while demand for diamonds remained stable.

Demand for gold has surged due to falling prices. The demand in tier one cities has increased by 28 per cent and in tier two by 37 per cent. The reason for the significant surge in demand for gold in tier two cities is the rise in disposable income of the people,

Demand for silver has also increased by 2.4 times. The highest demand for gold among tier one cities was seen in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi and Bengaluru. Delhi led the way with a 41 per cent share in the demand for gold coins, while Mumbai had the highest demand for gold bars at 34 per cent.

Among the tier-two cities, the highest demand for gold jewelery was in Coimbatore, followed by Chandigarh and Lucknow. Among tier two cities, the highest demand for gold bars was seen in Jaipur, followed by Combtur and Lucknow. Jaipur had the highest demand for gold coins among tier two cities followed by Coimbatore and Lucknow in second and third place respectively.

The highest demand in silver was for jewelery at 27 percent. Among the tier one cities, the highest demand for silver jewelery was in Hyderabad. It is followed by Bengaluru and Delhi. Silver coins were popular in Delhi, accounting for 50 percent of the total demand.

Among the tier-one cities, maximum demand for diamond jewelery was seen in Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad. While among tier two cities Jaipur, Coimbatore and Indore had the highest demand. Among tier one cities, the highest demand for platinum jewelery was in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore, while among tier two cities were Surat, Coimbatore and Jaipur.
