Globally, billionaires like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett make a name for themselves by donating billions of rupees every year, but many businessmen in India also donate so much that our eyes tear up. Edelgive Hurun India has released the Philanthropy List 2022. In this list of India's biggest donors, HCL founder Shiv Nadar is at number one by donating 1,161 crore rupees, while Wipro founder Azim Premji is at number two with a donation of 484 crore rupees. Premji donated Rs 9,713 crore last year. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani is at number three by donating Rs 411 crore in the education sector. Kumar Mangalam Birla's family is at number four with a donation of Rs 242 crore.

Nirmala showered with memes for dollar-rupee comment

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman addressed a press conference in the US on October 16 following the statement made about the rupee continuously falling against the dollar, hundreds of memes were created. Nirmala could not do anything else as finance minister but she created a new record in memes. By imitating Nirmala, new stories also circulated. Nirmala Sitharaman said that now the rupee is not weak but the dollar is getting stronger. The rupee has fared better than other emerging market currencies. The funny thing is, when Nirmala said this, the rupee was around 82 rupees against the dollar, which has now fallen to 83 rupees.

Plane system even in railways, penalty for excess luggage

Indian Railways has now introduced the plane system in trains as well. It means that now, like in the plane, the baggage cannot be taken more than the prescribed limit in the train. The amount of baggage that a passenger can take with him in the train is divided according to the class. Baggage exceeding the prescribed limit during checking in the train can be fined at least 600 rupees.

According to railway rules, 40 kg per passenger can be carried in a sleeper coach and 50 kg per passenger in a Tier-2 coach. A person traveling in first class can carry luggage up to 70 kg. If the luggage is more than that, there will be a penalty based on the distance.

Dr. who discovered ORS. Death of Mahalanbis

Dr. who saved millions of lives by making oral rehydration solution i.e. ORS. Dilip Mahalanbis passed away in Kolkata without much notice. Dr. Mahalanbis died at the age of 87 due to complications including lung disease. During the 1971 Bangladesh war, Dr. Mahabalnis gave a great gift to the people by creating ORS. Dr. Mahabalanis oral rehydration therapy was so useful to people that many medical experts believed that Dr. Mahabalanis should have received the Nobel Prize for Medicine. Interestingly, Dr. Mahalanbis was originally pediatric. He also practiced in the UK and later joined the treatment of cholera and invented ORS.

Airlines eye small-town travelers
