There will be a shortage of components in the consumer durables industry

Mumbai: India's consumer doorbells industry may be affected again after Diwali due to China's zero covid policy. There is a possibility of shortage of components due to zero covid policy.

As supply chain issues have arisen with the spread of the pandemic, China's zero covid policy has created more risk for Indian consumer durables companies. The country's white goods manufacturers depend on China for 25 to 75 percent of their parts.

75 percent of the components used in the production of air conditioners have to be imported from China. Although companies have kept stocks of components to meet the Dussehra-Diwali demand, the possibility of a shortage after Diwali is not ruled out, said an official of the Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association.

If China continues its zero policy, in the next summer season, the production of products like refrigerators, ACs may be affected. To overcome Corona, China is taking measures like lockdown in various areas. Handling of containers at ports in China has to follow strict guidelines.

It is to be mentioned here, due to the strict lockdown during the Corona period, the supply of parts of electronics and products like AC, fridge was disrupted all over the world including India.
