Huge fine to Google for exploiting Indian developers

- Google, which used its dominance in the Internet world to squeeze Indian IT companies, took it for granted by the Indian authorities.

- In fact, giant corporate companies like India's Reliance should allocate money to create a search engine like Google. No concrete thoughts have been made in this direction yet

- Competition Commission of India (CCI) has fined Google a total of Rs 2,274 crore in the last one month: Indian developers welcome the verdict

Even though the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has not hit a big tiger by imposing a penalty of lakhs of rupees on Google, which earns billions of dollars, the internet giant's ears have become so loud that it has screamed. Google has already hinted that locking horns with the Indian authorities could be very difficult. Google, which used its dominance in the Internet world to squeeze the nose of Indian IT companies, was taken for granted by the Indian authorities. But India's authorities have turned a blind eye to Google and have signaled other internet giants to stay within bounds.

CCI has imposed a fine of Rs 1337.76 crore on Google on October 26, adding up to Rs 936.44 crore. In the last one month, Google has been fined a total of 2274 crore rupees. A Google spokesperson responded by saying that we will continue to engage with our users and developers and will approach the High Court in the coming days to review the penalty imposed on us.

Internet giant Google started wrong business practices because of its dominance in technology. Google's business system for promoting its own Play Store applications came into the public eye. A company that wanted to put its app on the Google Store had to go through its monopoly system.

Google says that our technology and business systems provide developers in India with security and customers. Google also claims that our light charges and technology have become useful for developers in India. But India's competition watchdog did not agree with this claim. It noted that Google has done injustice by relegating Indian apps in the search list because of its market dominance.

Google ranked its associated applications higher in the search list on its Play Store. When Google was fined for the second time, it explained that we have created a system that millions of Indians use in a way that does no injustice to anyone, but India's competition watchdog strongly disagrees and calls Google a culprit.

It was normal for Google when the Competition Commission of India fined it for the first time, but when it fined it the second time, it got into a fix and started to open up on Twitter to avoid being disgraced in the world. Google came out of the delusion that no one can do anything in India.

The competition watchdog has shown Google the system of New India. There is no possibility of a back door settlement with Google in the Modi government. There is no minister with whom Google can present itself to reduce the penalty or to drop the case to save its face.

There was a time when foreign companies used to settle their problems by reaching out to the Gandhi family on 10, Janpath. For example, Anderson, the foreign owner of Bhopal gas and fame Union Carbide, was allowed to escape. As there are no two centers of power in the Modi government, internet giant Google has to follow the laws of India.

Currently, the situation of developers is such that they have to stay under the shelter of Google. Developers create various applications and put them on Play Store. The developer has to pay for the number of people who download it. Not all apps that are uploaded run but those that do run have to be charged. If this number is increased then annual fee has to be paid. Google may delete an app at any time and may also place other apps in the same category at the top of the search queue.

Google forced app developers to buy their own bills so that Google gets commission on every transaction. Thus Google leveraged its supremacy. Developers in India have welcomed the fine judgment on Google.

In fact, giant corporate companies like India's Reliance should allocate money to create search engines like Google. No concrete thoughts have been made in this direction yet. When 5G has entered India, India should think of freeing itself from the slavery of the internet giant. When India is moving towards becoming a developed country by 2030, it will have to create an indigenous internet giant.

Countries like South Korea and China do not use Google. South Korea has banned Google's entry. South Korea even caught the ear of Apple. There are reports that Google will go to court against the penalty. India's misfortune is that Indian lawyers will be lining up to fight Google's case.

Google is not very willing to admit that it is engaging in anti-competitive practices. Using its supremacy has harmed the developers of India and stopped their progress. The CCI took action based on the investigation from 2017 to 2022. Indian mobile app developers also welcomed the penalty imposed by the CCI.

Google has also been ordered to change the Android application operating system. Minister of State for IT Sector S Chandrasekhar also welcomed the verdict.
