IndiGo orders 500 aircraft, partners with Turkish Airlines

Vinay Malhotra, President, International Sales, IndiGo Airlines, said that IndiGo has partnered with Turkish Airlines to expand its reach to Europe and has placed an order for 500 aircraft as part of the expansion plan. IndiGo has ordered planes from both European giant Airbus and US Boeing, airline officials said.
Over 300 aircraft in Indigo's fleet
Speaking to reporters, Malhotra said that the airline currently operates 1800 flights a day and 10 percent of them are on international routes. IndiGo has over 300 aircraft in its fleet and the company currently operates 76 domestic and 26 international flights. Recently, flights were also announced for two domestic destinations Nasik and Dharamsala.
Air India has also ordered 840 aircraft
The airline operates about 1800 flights per day and currently about 80 percent of available seats are domestic and 20 percent international flights. He said that we will start operating flights to Nairobi in Kenya and Jakarta in Indonesia next summer. It is worth mentioning that recently Air India also ordered to buy 840 planes.
