Modi government is preparing to auction these 6 mines

The central government may auction a total of 6 mineral mines, including 4 iron ore mines, in February. This decision will boost the contribution of the mining sector to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country.

Preparation for auction of these 6 mines

According to the Ministry of Mines, 4 iron ore mines in Chhattisgarh may be auctioned on Tuesday. Last year, the ministry had issued a notice inviting tenders for the auction of Chitpuri B iron ore block, Gomtar-Vakeli, Bijapur, Haladdi, Uttar Bastar Kanker, Lohatar, Uttar Bastar Kanker mines.

Lead and related minerals at Bandiamottu mine

Andhra Pradesh's Bandiamottu mine may also be auctioned in February. The mine includes lead and related minerals such as nickel, cobalt and copper. A notice inviting tenders was issued in December last year. The auction of limestone mines in Karnataka has also been extended till February, the ministry said.
