That means the cost of treating this disease has become 160 percent expensive in 5 years. In a megacity like Mumbai, this cost in five years is Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 80,000 has happened.

Expenditure increased at the rate of 18 percent annually

The average cost for treatment of respiratory diseases in 2018 was Rs 48,452, which has increased to Rs 94,245 in 2022, which means that annual treatment has become more expensive at the rate of 18 percent. While in Mumbai this cost is Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 1.70 lakh has happened.

After Corona, the treatment became expensive

After the corona epidemic, the expenditure on treatment has increased, especially the treatment of the disease has become the most expensive. The cost of materials used for treatment has also increased. Earlier this material accounted for 3 to 4 percent of the total bill, which has now increased to 15 percent. Medical inflation is increasing at a faster rate than other inflation. Inflation rate is 7 percent but medical inflation is increasing at twice the rate. Due to increasing demand for health insurance, treatment has also become expensive.
