Silver futures surge by Rs 3550 on weekly basis: Gold and crude oil futures face to face
A total turnover of Rs.4,85,250.2 crore was recorded in 62,77,293 trades in various commodity futures, options and index futures on the country's leading commodity derivatives exchange during the week of August 18 to 24, with commodity futures accounting for Rs.94, 837.79 crore and the share of options was Rs.3,90,213.78 crore. It may be mentioned here that during the week on Wednesday, August 23, an all-time high daily notional turnover of 2,275.74 tonnes worth Rs.16,653.51 crore was recorded in silver options contracts.
During the week under review, 8,88,893 trades worth Rs 54,589.47 crore were transacted in gold-silver futures of precious metals. Among gold futures, gold October futures opened at Rs.58,370 per 10 grams at the beginning of the week, touched an intra-day high of Rs.58,895 and a low of Rs.58,281 during the week, ended the week by Rs.521 at Rs.58,811. had arrived Against this, Gold-Guinea August contract 8 per gram fell by Rs.207 to Rs.47,245 and Gold-Petal August contract rose by Rs.6 per gram to reach Rs.5,828. Among silver futures, silver September futures opened at Rs.70,440 per kg at the beginning of the week, touched an intra-day high of Rs.74,084 and a low of Rs.69,969 during the week, rose by Rs.3,550 to Rs.73 at the end of the week. It closed at the level of 568. The Chandi-Mini August contract increased by Rs.3,076 to Rs.73,258 and the Chandi-Micro August contract increased by Rs.3,071 to close at Rs.73,268.
In non-ferrous metal futures, 1,09,280 deals worth Rs 11,449.78 crore were traded at MCX. Copper August futures opened at Rs.725, up by Rs.10.15 to Rs.733.75 while aluminum August contract rose by Rs.0.60 to Rs.197.50 and lead August contract rose by Rs.0.15 to Rs.184. were done
