The ED also wrote a letter to the Durg police on December 9, 2022, seeking information on banking transactions for investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). According to ED, most of the cases related to online gaming applications are registered at Supela police station in Bhilai and Mohnagar police station in Durg district. In a letter to the Durg police, the ED sought details of those bank accounts and a copy of the FIR. Then the then SP of Durga also launched a drive in the district on the Mahadev app, in which several corporate accounts were found linked to shell companies, through which money was fraudulently sent abroad. Police said the online app has connections in other states.
