The expansion of the BRICS countries is an example of the growing economic and political influence of China, India
- A group is taking shape that will directly challenge US interventionism
- BRICS nations account for 46 percent of the world's population, 25 percent of exports, 43 percent of crude oil production and a third of GDP.
In the excitement of celebrating the success of Chandrayaan 3, the discussion of an important global event of this week has been sidelined. In 2009, five countries namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa established a group of nations after the report of the BRICS countries that came with the prediction that the Goldman regime would become an economic superpower. This group was established to maintain greater coordination, economic and social harmony among the members of these countries. A meeting of the heads of these nations was held on Thursday and it has been agreed to accept Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Ethiopia and the Arab Emirates as new members. Every decision of BRICS is in the constitution to be taken by consensus and therefore it can be said for sure that the decision to join the new nations will have to be approved by all the existing nations as well.
The original five nations had 28.7 percent of the world's geographical area and 41.5 percent of the population. With the addition of new nations, now only a group of 12 nations can create a major economic power in the world. South Africa has long called for the BRICS nations to have their own currency - just as European Union countries have adopted the euro instead of their individual currencies. In the world, China and Russia are currently fighting against the dollar and the American bully, India is also negotiating with Asian partners to make its currency, the rupee, more accepted in world trade. Therefore, it can be said that the expansion of the BRICS countries will give a new dimension to this fight against the dollar and America, and that is why this event can be considered important.
The new members will then tap into the economic power of BRICS. It is estimated that the world economy will be around 104 trillion dollars in the year 2023. The share of BRICS countries will be 29.3 percent or 30.7 trillion dollars. 46 percent or 3.7 billion people of the world's total population of eight billion will be living in BRICS. 25 percent or 6.3 trillion dollars will be the share of the BRICS countries in the world's trade or import and export together, which is 25 trillion dollars. Crude oil is the most essential fuel for the world. Iran and the Arab countries joining BRICS will have a share of 43 percent or 404 million barrels in the total daily crude oil production of 9.4 million.
Russia and China have been accusing the US and other Western nations of increasing interference after Russia invaded Ukraine. The relationship between China and the US is like a cold war, both economically and diplomatically. Both the nations are frequently facing each other over the issue of Taiwan. Russia is openly opposing America. On the other hand, both India and Brazil are countries that have close relations with the US and other Western nations and efforts are still underway to strengthen the relationship. India has a border dispute with China, there is sentiment among Indians to boycott Chinese goods and technology. After the clash between the Chinese and Indian armies in Ladakh, there have been no talks between the heads of the two countries. India is a part of US-led quadrangle or quadrangle against China's hegemony. This organization has emerged to respond to China's military might in the Indian Ocean. Economically, India has laid the red carpet for India to become a hub for global manufacturing instead of China. So, in this situation, it can be said that China and India are in conflict with each other.
However, China, which has huge economic and military power, has come up against America to increase its dominance over the world. Among the newly joined BRICS nations, Iran is one of the countries that does not have very good relations with the West but has close friendships with Russia and China. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have always been American friends, the largest base of American military bases, but now both are leaning towards China. China is the largest customer of crude oil for Saudi Arabia. Therefore, China's surrender has been accepted to such an extent that it has left the five-decade-old enmity and restarted relations with Iran through the mediation of China. Egypt, Ethiopia and Argentina are becoming dependent on China for their economic development. Argentina is in debt and in need of a bailout, so it is leaning towards BRICS.
China is openly stating that the world should now abandon the dominance of America and Western countries and form another organization. The World Bank, UNO and the International Monetary Fund are under the control of America and against it BRICS nations, India and China have come together to form a multinational bank. Helping member nations to develop. In this situation, an expanding nation of nations with massive economic power and fuel is giving a different signal to the world. Apart from this, it is important that three dozen countries like Cuba, Pakistan, Mexico, Pakistan are ready to join BRICS and are showing interest, so the possibility that BRICS will become a global alternative to challenge America's power in the coming days cannot be ruled out.
