Corona recession worsens with the crisis of 2008
New Delhi, 4 April 2020 Saturday
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Friday that the Corona virus epidemic has created a crisis for the worldwide economy. The IMF said that for the whole world this situation could be worse than the financial situation of 2008. The IMF called this a dark time for humanity.
Developing countries need support
Advance Economy has called for the support of emerging markets, said Crystalik's Jorginova, managing director of the IMF. He said that by doing so, the developing country would be able to get out of this epidemic along with the challenges of its economy.
"This crisis is not the same as the previous one," he said. "We have already seen the crisis of the global economy," he said through a video conference to about 400 reporters. We are now in a time of recession. This situation is worse than the financial crisis of 2008-09.
The World Bank also expressed skepticism about the recession
World Bank President David Malpas, who was also apprehensive of the recession, also said in a LinkedIn post in his LinkedIn post, "We are also seeing a global recession ahead of health problems from the Covid-19 epidemic."
It is worth mentioning that, according to information received by Friday evening, over one million people have been infected with the corona virus all over the world. Globally, over 53,000 people have died so far.
One year of unpaid debt from poor countries
"The IMF, together with the World Bank and the World Health Organization, is considering that some large economies, including China, do not collect debt from small countries for at least a year," Georgiwa said.
He said China's stance on the matter is positive and China will work on special proposals in the coming weeks, adding that there will be an online meeting between the World Bank and the G20 group within the next two weeks.
