- Tuvar dal prices unfettered despite government measures

The big question is why the prices of tuvar dal have been increasing continuously for some time now. It was claimed by the government that due to the ongoing crackdown on hoarding across the country, the prices will come down, but instead of that happening, the prices are continuously increasing. Even as stock limits have been fixed in many states to prevent hoarding, the prices of Tuvar dal are increasing.

In December 2022, the price of Tuvar dal was Rs 100, which has increased to around Rs 130. After the price crossed Rs 120 in March, the central government banned the storage of dal beyond the limit, but prices have not come down.
