Sensex jumped 349 points to 60649
Mumbai: Derivatives ended the April trend on a bullish note today. After opening trading cautiously narrowly fluctuating, IT stocks led the rally ahead of an overall encouraging season of corporate results and now IT giant Wipro's announcement of results and buybacks by funds, maharathis. In the global markets yesterday, the positive impact of corporate results led to the reduction of funds with short covering in the IT stocks behind the strength in the Nasdaq stock markets of America. The Sensex finally rose by 348.80 points to 60649.38 and the Nifty spot increased by 101.45 points to close at 17915.05.
IT stocks rise
In IT-software services, technology stocks yesterday, funds were picked up on the back of strength in the Nasdaq stock market and the attractiveness of the company's results. The stock was steady at Rs 374.25 on a cautious note ahead of the announcement of weak quarterly results and a Rs 12,000 crore share buyback in Wipro Ltd. While L&T Technology rose by Rs.281.40 to Rs.3729.35, Datamatics Global rose by Rs.15.95 to Rs.316, Tata Alexi rose by Rs.295.50 to Rs.6584, BSE IT Index rose by 308.45 points to 27219. .47 was off.
Capital goods stocks continue to rally
Funds in capital goods stocks also continued to pick up the pick today. Schaeffler Ind increased by Rs.60.20 to Rs.2804.85, Grindwell Norton increased by Rs.37 to Rs.1899.20, Sona BLW increased by Rs.6.40 to Rs.471.25, Larsen & Toubro increased by Rs.30.20 to Rs. .2305.20, SKF India increased by Rs.34.85 to Rs.4130.90. The BSE Capital Goods Index rose 259.54 points to close at 36109.10.
Broad rally in small, mid cap stocks
Sensex, Nifty based today again with a stormy rally in funds, market breadth was more positive as funds, high net worth investors, players again bought broadly in small, mid cap, cash stocks. Out of the total 3614 scrips traded in BSE, the number of gainers was 2025 and the number of decliners was 1458.
FPI's purchase of Rs.1653 crore in cash
FIIs made a net purchase of Rs.1652.95 crore in cash segment today-Thursday. While DII-domestic institutional investors made a net purchase of Rs.97.07 crore.
Investors' wealth increased by Rs.1.31 lakh crore
Investors' wealth i.e. aggregate market capitalization of BSE listed companies has increased by Rs.1.31 lakh crore to Rs.269.05 lakh crore in a single day today due to extensive buying in stocks.
