India lags behind China in global toy trade


- About two-thirds of the toys sold globally are from China

- India's toy exports account for 0.23 percent of world toy exports

New Delhi, 13 December 2022, Tuesday

Although India's share of world toy trade has improved slightly, it still lags behind China. Toys are not China's main export, but about two-thirds of the toys sold globally are from China. The world will export $73.2 billion worth of toys in 2021. China accounted for 66.2 percent or $48.5 billion, of which mainland China exported $46.1 billion and Hong Kong $2.4 billion. India's toy exports account for 0.23 percent of world toy exports.
