Mumbai, Ta. January 16, 2020, Thursday
In the counterfeit currency notes seized in 1, the currency accounted for 5 per cent of the rupee notes. The counterfeit notes seized in 1 also had a share of 5 per cent of currency notes, according to data from the National Crime Records Bureau.
According to the Bureau's report, two forged notes of Rs. The Jennings value was estimated at 1.3 million. A total of 5 fake notes were seized in the year, valued at Rs 8.5 crore.
It was claimed at the time that it would not be easy to make fake currency notes of Rs. The government claims strong security measures have been taken. But the number of counterfeit notes worth Rs 5 can be said to be relatively high.
Of the total fake notes seized of rupees 3, that was, 4 notes were seized from Tamil Nadu alone. Karnataka was followed by Karnataka with 2 and West Bengal with 3 notices. 2 fake notices were found in Gujarat and 3 in Maharashtra. This figure is only for notices seized by the investigating agencies and not by every forged note. If the number of seized notes is so high, then the fake notes contained in the circulation may also be very high, sources in the bureau said.
It is easier to hold fictitious notes with more denominations than less denominations because, in legal terms, fictitious notices do not make a significant difference in sentence. For counterfeit note printers consider it appropriate to risk further denomination notes.
Given the way fake notes are being seized and the cash transactions have increased, the intention of the notary exercise has not come to fruition, sources said. Currency denomination of rupee and rupee was denominated with the aim of eradicating black money from the country, seizing counterfeit notes and eliminating cash-based corruption.
After the ban, most of the rupee and rupee 3 notes were deposited in the country's banks. The government's assumption that large amounts of black money would be seized was almost unsuccessful.
