Only around 2% of the world's old clothes are recycled

New York, January 20, 2020, Monday

Due to the increasing fashion, the world has bought 3 times more clothes compared to 5. A pint size jeans cloth consumes a total of 3,000 liters of water at different stages. A bulb used for washing or drying jeans consumes as much electricity as a thousand hours. About 100 million jeans are sold every year in the United States. According to one information, the world airplane, which gathers water and produces more greenhouse than the greenhouse, is spreading because of the textile.

The average citizen of a developed country like the United States buys about 5 garments a year. On average, a person does not wear a garment on average five or six times longer. Due to the changing fast fashion, rapid production of garments has also led to protests in the United States against increasing pollution. Developed countries have also started producing jeans in developing countries to avoid pollution. This is why in countries like Bangladesh, India and Thailand, the cost of textile manufacturing is increasing. Clothing brand companies have also launched offers to recycle clothing and get discounts on new clothing purchases. This old garment comes in the name of resale to the poorest countries in Africa and Asia.

According to one information, however, recycling techniques for pure cotton and other textiles have not been developed. At present, whatever cloth is made is made by combining different types of fibers .It is not an easy task to separate the fibers woven inside the polyester, viscose, rayon etc. with cotton. Only around 2% of the world's clothing is recycled. At present, the old clothes of developed countries are piling up in Africa and Asian countries. In winter season, worn sweaters and tuxedos at zero degrees are dumped from abroad. Thus, drains and canals are seen filled with dirty and tattered clothing.
