Industrial production grew 1.8 percent in November

The index of industrial production (IIP) -based industrial output has seen growth in November, after falling three months in a row. Growth in industrial production has seen an increase in industrial production in November due to increased production in the manufacturing sector.

It is worth mentioning that in November 2018, the industrial output was 0.2 percent. According to data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO), the manufacturing sector's industrial growth rate in November was 2.7 percent. That was 0.7 percent in the same period last year.

However, capital goods production, which is considered a barometer for investment in November, declined by 8.6%. Production for the same sector declined 4.1 percent in November, 2018.

Production in the consumer durables sector also declined in November. FMCG sector output has grown by 2%. The FMCG sector output for November 2018 saw a decline of 0.3 per cent. Experts on IIP-based industrial production figures say that these figures will provide relief to market and policy makers.
