In view of high unemployment levels, the government will formulate a new employment policy

In view of the high unemployment rate in the country, the government is planning to formulate a new national employment policy. The proposal was submitted by the Ministry of Labor and Employment at a recent meeting of the Council of Ministers, sources said.

The Labor Ministry has decided to make a major change to the new policy. The National Employment Policy has been in the works for the past decade. The first proposal regarding the policy was submitted in 3, sources in the Employment Ministry said.

In order to prepare a policy document on employment, the government had constituted an Inter-Ministerial Committee. He was not pleased with the drafts received by the Labor Ministry for employment reform.

For the second time, the Narendra Modi-led government is working on a comprehensive policy on employment, sources added.

The government is seeking information from trade unions, businesses and state governments to formulate policies. In this regard, every stakeholder is expected to meet shortly.
