Sensex 64,000, Nifty 19,000 all-time high

Ahmedabad: On the back of favorable domestic and global reports, Mumbai Stock Market's Sensex and NSE's Nifty created another new record today, led by foreign investors, intra-day Sensex surged to a historic high of 64,000 and Nifty of 19,000. However, in the final phase of the session, both the indices lost their highs and closed due to profitable selling pressure at the higher heads.

Despite the threat of El-Nino, good start of monsoon across the country, mega-merger of banking giant HDFC and HDFC Bank in the corporate sector, reduction in NPAs of banks, reduction in current account deficit, recovery in global markets on the back of cautious Fed policy among other factors favored the Indian stock market today. was affected.

On the back of these reports, there was a positive trend in the market right from the start of business today, with foreign investors, players, funds as well as investors taking new hands. As a result, the Sensex crossed the important level of 64,000 in the afternoon and rose intra-day to a new all-time high of 64050.44.

On the other hand, the Nifty on the NSE also advanced sharply, crossing the crucial intraday level of 19,000 to form a new all-time high of 19011.25.

However, the Sensex rallied 499 points to 63915 and the Nifty remained strong at 18972, rising 155 points in the closing stages of the trading session, on the back of profitable selling pressure at the higher end.

Foreign investors today invested Rs. 12350 crores of new purchases were made. On the other hand, the local bodies have Rs. 1021 crore was sold.

Following the rally in the Sensex, investors' assets (BSE market cap) today rose to Rs. 1.98 lakh crore and finally Rs. 294.11 lakh crore reached a record level.
