Ultranationalism found in almost every country of the world...
- The Conundrum of Economics - Dhawal Mehta
- Reliable statistics on economic inequality in the country are not available
In almost every country of the world, hyper-nationalism has emerged. Every nation believes that our nation is the best in the world because our culture is the best in the world. Transnationalism is built on the 'romanticisation' or 'glorification' of the past. It is true that nationalism expresses patriotism, but nationalism based on the mythology of the past or religious ultra-nationalism based on the claim of superiority of Islam is dangerous for the world. Butrand Russell had a vision of 'One World - One Government' and fought for it till death. We have the concept of Vasudhaiva family there but seeing the iron caste system of India we should insert the words Mari Jaati instead of Vasudha. Two major questions are facing the world right now. The question of atmospheric pollution is important but it is not discussed here. The problem number 1 in the world is that the economy of the world has been globalized and will continue to increase but why is the globalization of politics (One World - One Government) not happening. The main reason is that every nation believes that if there is a one-world one-government, our power will go from our country. Our culture is the best in the world. So what to do if we let the cultures that descend from us dominate us. Our Muslim religion, our ancient Hindu religion, our Buddhist religion, our Christian religion, our Jain religion, our Jewish religion etc. will be intermingled under the One World - One Government. In most of the developing countries of the world except the western countries, either religion and tribes in African countries have dominated the people there. As long as the world is divided into nations, there will continue to be alliances of nations against each other and the threat of a third world war will continue.
Another major question plaguing the world is related to economics. The world economy has been growing at a rate of three percent for the past several years. One to one and a half percent of the world's population is growing faster than that. Why is economic inequality (of income and wealth) increasing in the world? Economic inequality in America is growing as Thomas Pickery has shown. Economic inequality seems to be increasing in India as well. According to the Government of India, the question of eradicating poverty from India is more 'urgent' than economic inequality. How did it happen that the two ministers of Gujarat, Narendra Modi and Shah, are at the top of power in India and the two businessmen, the Ambani family and the Adani family, are the two richest families in the country? The tallest statue of any leader in the world is in Gujarat etc. It is said about Narendra Modi's charisma leadership that no one can step in his footsteps, his speech seems to be more effective than any current leader of the world. However, there is no clear and reliable data on whether the number of billionaires in India is increasing and economic inequality is increasing, stable or decreasing. The extreme right-wing thinking of neoliberalism is believed to be responsible for increasing economic inequality in the world. There is a hidden war going on in the world right now between liberal economists and market fundamentalists. The leadership of the market fundamentalists rests in the hands of the economists of the Mount Perelian Society. Laureate of Liberal Economics Prof. Stieglitz is a Nobel Prize winner. Scoffing at those who blame neoliberalism for the world's economic inequality, economists point out that despite neoliberalism in Russia and China, there is a large fleet of billionaires. As long as there is nationalism in the world, there will always be the threat of world war.
