German Minister buys vegetables and pays through UPI, praises India's achievement

India's Unified Payment Interface i.e. UPI is being used in all countries of the world. Even the Government of India considers UPI as one of its greatest achievements. Germany has also joined the list of India's UPI users. Germany's digital and transport minister Volker Wiesing, who came to participate in the G20 summit, called it India's success.

Germany's Union Digital and Transport Minister Volker Wiesing experienced the ease of payment using UPI and became a fan. Volker Wissing attended the G20 digital ministers' meeting in Bengaluru on August 19 and took a stroll on the streets of Bengaluru yesterday. Here he bought vegetables from the vegetable market and paid for them through UPI. A video of a German minister buying vegetables is going viral on social media.

The popularity and use of UPI was highly praised by the German Embassy in India via a tweet on X (Twitter). The embassy's tweet praised India's digital infrastructure, saying that UPI is one of the country's success stories. Germany's Digital and Transport Minister Volker Wiesing was impressed by using UPI. They said it was very user friendly and I was amazed at how quickly the transaction was completed. He also appreciated the security features of UPI and said that it is very secure and I am confident that my money is safe.
