People's demand will increase during festivals Strategic planning of manufacturers

- Electronics-auto manufacturers gear up to meet festive demand
- Expected to meet demand in current year as shortage of semi-conductors overcomes
MUMBAI: The country's automobile and electronics industry has already started ramping up production, hoping for a huge increase in demand during the upcoming festive season.
Last year, due to shortage of components, demand could not be met during the festive period and the waiting period for order fulfillment was long. However, the shortage of components has been overcome in the current year and our plants are operating at full capacity, said a spokesperson of an electronics company.
Automobile manufacturers ramped up production ahead of time to meet the demand for the festive season.
Currently, the inventory of unsold goods with companies and dealers is low, which indicates demand for the festive season, said a washing machine dealer.
An auto dealer said that demand has been higher than usual in July and August of the current year. During the Onam festival in Kerala, electronic goods sales have increased by 30 to 35 percent compared to last year.
It is a big relief for us that the shortage of semiconductors has been removed, said the head of the sales department of another auto company. According to the figures released in July of the current year, the production of vertical vehicles was as high as 18 percent. The festive season order book for washing machines and TVs is increasing while demand for smartphones also has room to grow, said an electronics contract manufacturer.
