Rapid increase in the wealth of Indians... 65% of people in the country have a total wealth of 1280 lakh crores, reveals in the Global Wealth Report

The report 'Global Wealth Report 2023' has been released by the Union Bank of Switzerland in which it is said that the people of India are getting rich very fast. According to this report, the average wealth of adults in India is around 14 lakhs.

After the year 2000, there has been a continuous increase in the wealth of the people of India

According to this report, if the wealth of the people in the country increases in this way, soon the people of India will become rich. It has been said that after the year 2000 the wealth of the people of India started increasing. But, if we compare them with the global average wealth, India lags far behind. The wealth of Indian adults is five times lower than the global average. That is, the global average is around 70 lakh rupees.


Decline in wealth of people worldwide from 2008 to 2022

The Global Wealth Report 2023, published on 1 June 2023, stated that between the years 2008 and 2022, the wealth of people worldwide declined. In the year 2022, the total private wealth of the world has increased to 454.4 trillion dollars i.e. about 38 thousand lakh crore rupees. Which is 11.3 trillion dollars i.e. about Rs. 940 lakh crore is less.


In India, the rate of inequality has increased along with wealth

The report also states that India's wealth inequality rate is also increasing rapidly. In the year 2000, only 1 percent of India's total population owned 33.2 percent of the country's wealth. But after 12 years by the year 2022, 40.4 percent of the wealth has become owned by that 1 percent of the population. The Global Wealth Report 2023 stated that by the year 2022, there were a total of 8.49 lakh billionaires in the country. 5,480 of them are billionaires with a net worth of over $100 million.
