Balle-Balle of IT employees : This company allowed to work in two organizations simultaneously

Ahmedabad, on 21 October 2022, Friday

Corona epidemic in India has molded everyone into a new culture. Especially there has been a drastic change in the working pattern of the employees. In the work-from-home pattern during the Corona period, employees started working in two companies simultaneously to meet the strange situation of today's inflation.

Especially in the IT sector, employees have tried their best to give due justice to both the organizations by adopting outsourcing, freelancing work, but at times the employees' work pattern and personal matters related to one company reach out to the other company and the 'Moon Lighting' controversy arises. has happened

This new system of moonlighting i.e. side job has disturbed the information technology sector of India. Wipro exposed this moonlighting perspective and laid off several employees. Many IT companies have sacked employees working for two such organizations, thanks to Wipro. On the other side, the employee groups have opposed the strictures of the companies, standing firm on their claim to double the earnings by working twice as hard. However, now there is a good news for employees doing this type of side job i.e. moonlighting.

Indian technology giant Infosys has allowed employees to take up temporary jobs along with one main job with prior approval from managers. In the information sent to employees, Infosys explained in detail how employees can work on a 'gig', i.e. temporary, contract basis.

However, Infosys did not define 'gig' work and did not refer to it as 'moonlighting'. Earlier, the company had clarified that it does not support 'moonlighting' and has fired two employees in the last 12 months.

"Any employee who wishes to do other work may do other work in his personal time with the prior consent of the manager and BP-HR. However, it should not be in competition with Infosys or its customers," the company said in an e-mail sent to employees on Thursday.

Infosys has made it clear that such a policy will be accepted only when the other work is not competitive with the company and its customers or does not cause a conflict of interest. It is the responsibility of the employees to ensure that these concessions to employees should not affect their ability to work effectively with the company.

Analysts say the move could help companies deal with some of the challenges associated with leaving employees and their jobs, and on the other hand, provide employees with an additional source of income.
